Just Shut Up and Apologise. (Sorry for going political today)

In biology a feeding frenzy is described as a phenomenon in which aquatic predators, especially sharks, become so excited when eating that they attack each other. (source http://www.thefreedictionary.com/feeding+frenzy).

Feeding frenzy has been has been appropriated to now cover the behaviour of the group, the mob, or more particularly an intense fascination on a particular event or thing by the media. The media is now in full frenzy over the events of the last week in Paris.

Victims will become martyrs.

Martyrs will become saints.

Somewhere along the line the finger of blame will be pointed according to whether your sympathies are left, right, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Atheist or Agnostic. Have I missed anyone out? Certainly. However it doesn’t really matter.

What matters is how humanity reacts to the frenzy and at the moment it does not look good.

I mean it’s great that we are all Charlie, but when one of the world’s richest men tweets “Maybe most Moslems peaceful, but until they recognize and destroy their growing jihadist cancer they must be held responsible.”

Murdoh

The question is; Do I really have to be Charlie with you Rupert? Seriously?

Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way. If all Moslems (I think he meant Muslims) have to take responsibility for the senseless killings in Paris, perhaps we should all put our hands up and take responsibility for anything we see as wrong.

Being born a white male in a western country I would like to apologise for Rupert Murdoch and his News empire and promise to do everything I can to remove that cancer:

I apologise for living in a country that has a legal system that does not know how to investigate or properly sentence rapists. A legal system that is supported and cheered on by Murdoch’s empire and is often as traumatic for the victims as the assault.

I apologise for the News of the World phone tapping. If you can’t man up and take responsibility Rupes, I will on your behalf.

I would like to apologise to every person that Fox News has bullied, slandered or ignored for not towing the GOP political line.

And finally, speaking of cancer, I would like to apologise to everyone that has been afflicted with this terrible disease and been denied access to the affordable health care. Perhaps, Rupert it would be good for you to go and explain face to face why they don’t deserve it?

Or even better (while we are on the idea of face to face discussions) why don’t you go to Iraq and explain to the Muslim victims of ISIS that it is their fault this is happening to them.
